Bringing Innovation to Your Shop Floor
The Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance is going mobile—literally—with its Advanced Manufacturing Mobile Lab, designed to help small- and medium-sized companies see advanced technology in action, right on their own shop floor.
The Mobile Lab makes it easier than ever for manufacturers to explore automation, robotics, and process improvement. Operated by OMA’s expert manufacturing specialists and applications engineers, the Lab delivers hands-on demonstrations that show what’s possible in real-world production environments.
What’s Inside the Mobile Lab
The Mobile Lab features a range of advanced tools that demonstrate practical, affordable technologies available to Oklahoma manufacturers:
- Collaborative Robots (Cobots) – Easy to operate and highly flexible, cobots can handle multiple applications and are quickly moved or reconfigured.
- Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) – Demonstrates smart material-handling solutions using defined pathways and learning capabilities.
- Wireless Image Measurement Systems – A simple, cost-effective way to step into the world of digital quality measurement.
- Augmented Reality (AR) – Helps both new and experienced workers visualize tools, layouts, and equipment within real-world spaces.
- Virtual Reality (VR) – Enables users to compare different production layouts or simulate processes before making costly changes.
- Portable 3-D Scanning – Captures parts and tools as detailed 3-D models, ideal for reverse engineering or precision replication.
Serving All Oklahoma Manufacturers
OMA’s Advanced Manufacturing Mobile Lab is built to serve every Oklahoma manufacturer, with a special emphasis on rural and underserved areas.
Through a unique partnership with OSU’s Ag Extension network, OMA is expanding the reach of advanced manufacturing resources to companies in all corners of the state—ensuring that innovation isn’t limited by geography.
A Powerful Companion to OMA’s Advanced Manufacturing Center
The Mobile Lab complements the OMA Advanced Manufacturing Center at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa—a 1,375-square-foot demonstration space where manufacturers can explore advanced systems, including collaborative robots, industrial automation, 3-D printing, and dimensional measurement.
By combining the fixed center and the traveling Mobile Lab, OMA offers the best of both worlds:
- A state-of-the-art facility for in-depth demonstrations, and
- A mobile experience that takes the latest technologies directly to manufacturers who may not be able to travel.
